ACT Facts

  • Students that are planning to attend a 4-year college or university, private or public must take the ACT or SAT. 
  • Students planning on attending a Community College or Technical School DO NOT need to take either the ACT or SAT. They will take a placement test such as the Accuplacer.
  • The ACT Writing Test is an additional test given with the ACT.  There is an extra cost and only required at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities; Duluth; Morris; Crookston; Rochester;  Carleton and St. Olaf in Minnesota.   Check the ACT website to see if you college requires it.
  • The ACT test is given in Park Rapids every test date except October
  • Test cost - ACT Test -- $34
  • Test cost ACT and Writing Test -- $49.50
